Week One: the first week of the year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It is snowy here as the new year starts. It started on New Year's Eve. Below are pictures taken after my trek to the grocery store. Although the store is only 6 blocks away, it sure seemed like a farther distance slipping and sliding in the 1/2 foot of snow that fell last night and this morning.

The are pix shot off my front porch after I dug the car out.
Jodi's poor car is getting buried out back, while the puppies romp in the white stuff.

Well, the first week of January is coming to an end. And thank God! It started with snow, changed to ice, and back to snow again. I'm just hoping for the warm-up (into the 20's!), so that I can chip the ice off the patio and steps. I've actually gotten used to driving in the snow after all these years (especially when I worked as a courier); but trying to drive on ice is a whole-other-ballgame!

Just when the inch of ice was finally softening, after being frozen solid since it fell 3 nights ago, here comes more of the *s* word. (Shhh! I tell all the kids that that word and "Pepsi" are cuss words!)
Carolynn (Randy's mom) lives about an hour away (and has as much snow as I do). She thought I should provide a picture of the sun. Since I haven't seen it either, I added a picture of it here.

Week Two:
Well, this week is starting off as bad as last week.
It's COLD! It's SNOWY!
Over a foot and a half!
It's ICY!
1" thick layer under the snow,
and 1/4" thick on top of the snow

For Carolynn, I got shot 2 pix of the real sun shining for a few moments.
These are the icicles hanging down in front of the kitchen window. Yikes!

Week Three:

Week Four:

Wouldn't you know it, the whole time I was trying to get my signature notarized (so that we could finish selling the Norland Rd. house), it snowed and snowed. That was a day that ended by adding an additional 8 inches of white stuff to what was already on the ground. Gosh, when does Spring come?
