Week One  |  Week Two  |  Week Three  |  Week Four
Week One:

Make sure to go back a month and review May if you haven't already. Last month, I started getting sick again, and made plans to go back on meds at the start of this month. So I'm sure there'll be plenty to write about this month. LOL Plus, it's almost summer time! Regardless of illness, I plan to enjoy the warmth!!

Week Two:

Seems like I've always got a story to tell. Here's a couple for this week:

My house was almost HIT by a car! In my neighborhood, the house directly across the street has only been lived in for about 2 years out of the 10 that I have lived here. The house next to that has always been empty. And the house directly beside mine has only been occupied 3 yrs. during all this time. Since the city has demolished the block beside me, the owners of these empty houses have finally been working on these homes. I figure property values are going to be going up around here (living beside a brand new school) so these guys are fixing up their houses to sell them off before they are stuck paying higher taxes for empty buildings. One afternoon, the owner of the house caddy-corner from me, was out doing yard work. As he worked in the front yard, he bumped into his car. Obviously his wreck of a car had alot of problems since his bump knocked the car out of park and sent it rolling backwards across the street directly toward my house. The man quickly jumped into his car (after whacking down the mailbox of my next door neighbor and scrunching one of my front shrubs) and guided it between my house and the one next door. Whew! Although the dogs were totally freaked out (they LIVE out on my screened-in front porch), no one was hurt and I was able to push my shrubs back into it's original place.

Of course, nothing can be easy in my life; and trying to get my meds hasn't been any different. Although I thought my prescriptions had been faxed in with the paperwork to sign me up with an Ohio program that covers the cost of some of the meds, of course, the rep from Family Services DIDN'T send them in! The rep claimed that it wasn't her job and she wasn't allowed. I had to bitch at her and explain that if my dead father could come back to life, HE could fax them in. Since I don't have a fax machine at home; but she has one at her work (which, since I am still working, MY tax dollars pay for!) and we talked about sending in the scripts to facilitate the whole affair, I was really pissed. So after waiting even more days (during which, the thrush has re-occurred several times, and I have gotten sicker), the prescription company has finally called and scheduled a delivery date: of NEXT Tues! So finally, after waiting forever, it seems, with just a little more wait, I should finally have my new prescriptions. (Although, that also means another week of getting sicker until help arrives.)

Some pictures of my shrubs and plants growing in the beautiful Spring weather.

Week Three: The MEDS are here!!

My meds have finally been delivered and there's good news and bad news about them. The good news first: these meds are much easier to take (and fewer!) than my previous prescriptions (this first picture is of a single daily dosage. the other picture below is the whole week's dosage). I have one capsule (Videx EC) that has to be taken hrs. before or after food, while the other meds are divided into two dosages taken at lunch and dinner.
The bad news is that the thrush is back with a vengeance and the meds are making me really sick. Although I have only thrown up twice, it's just as crappy having dry heaves 5 or 6 times a day. Luckily, I've still been able to eat food without many problems; however, I have been eating a lot more chicken soup than normal. LOL Out of the four days I have been on the new meds, I have been VERY sick for 3 of the days. I've still got hope though, that within a few more days, I will adjust to these meds a little better. (I did try to warn my friends - and myself - that I would still get sicker for a while [it takes a while for the meds to kick in and get my T-cells back up], and that there WOULD BE side effects to the meds themselves. For once, I wish I had been wrong!) I have found (as I write this and try not to think about being nauseous from the pills I took about 30 minutes ago) that if I take my top denture plate out, I don't get the nausea triggered as much - probably triggered by the plate touching the upper back part of my mouth which is a lot more sensitive since it's been irritated by the thrush.

Week Four:

Sick, Sick, Sick this week. Damn drugs!
