Dang! I was so busy with life, that I plumb forgot that the month had changed, and I still have a ton of pictures to show you.
PoolCam is Online! |
 |
If you checked out last month, you're probably wondering what PoolCam is. By now, many of you have been watching me on the cam I run from on top of my computer. (http://reigningpages.com/cams) Now, if it's a sunny day and you don't see me at my house, you might be able to find me in the pool - on PoolCam!
Here's the setup: I installed an old Windows95 (upgraded to Win98) computer over at Jim's house; networked this computer with Jim's WinXP computer; hooked up an old Logitech webcam to the old computer; ran the cam cable out the window and up to the roof; secured the cam in a plexiglass box (the box used to have a light and flower arrangement inside); and pointed the cam towards the pool. |
Here's Jim setting up and adjusting the cam on his roof. MouseOver the picture to the right for a closeup. |

Checkout some of the first tests of the PoolCam. Mouseover to see Jim, a dolphin and me showing up on the cam for the first time.
Ever wonder what the pool dolphins do all day while Jim and I are working? Well, our timed-lapse photography caught all their
shenanigans. LOL |

Look who jumped out of the water to peek back at us. |
The dolphins have "Gilligan's Island" spinning! |

Unfortunately, behind those blue shades and half-smile, things inside my head weren't quite so sunny. I had just returned from the doctor where I received some pretty icky news. My blood work was back and the results weren't so good. My T-Cells have fallen from 150 to 120 and my Viral Load has sky-rocketed from 20,000 to 150,000!!! Short of being a lot more tired lately, luckily I don't feel too bad; but those numbers are terrible. More blood work is being done, so the doctor can decide whether to up my current med dosage, or switch me to something else. This is definitely not the way I thought my summer was going to go, so keep your fingers crossed and your hopes high that I can keep this damned disease at bay. I've been lucky for a decade now, and plan to stay that way!
