Week One  |  Week Two  |  Week Three  |  Week Four
Week One:

Happy New Year!! Gosh! Only a few weeks into the New Year and I already have a lot of things to update you on.

For many years in December, DO and I go to see a movie together. This year was no exception, except that Jim was along this time too. We spent several enchanting hours watching the movie version of the Phantom of the Opera. If you've ever seen the play or listened to the soundtrack, take our advice and go see this movie. Luckily, in the dark, I don't think too many people saw us lip-syncing to all the songs. LOL

Speaking of Jim, I've got an update about him too. He called me the other day, and told me that he had a rash. Well, since I have become the expert on rashes and hives, he asked me to look at it. I thought I recognized his condition, so I took a few pictures and since them over to one of the nurses that I know (Carolynn) and got her opinion. The doc at StatCare confirmed what we thought - shingles! (What are shingles? you ask. It's chickenpox the second time around and it's no fun.) Unfortunately, there's no much that you can do for shingles either, except suffer through them for several weeks, and pray that you never get them again.

For Christmas, I really wanted to use my Christmas money gifts to buy an iPod. However, I didn't get quite enough money for that. I did get enough money to get a couple of good things. Being a good and responsible adult, I bought a replacement for my broken carpet shampooer. With four shaggy dogs and one muddy yard, you have to have something with which to clean the floors.

But it wasn't all responsible and mature spending on my part. LOL I picked up some replacement webcams since both the YardCam and PoolCam webcams died the week after Christmas. For only $20 each, these webcams have some pretty good quality (I also have one of these iConcepts cameras at EAC).

I came across a great deal to add some color to my computing. BestBuy and OfficeMax are my favorite stores. On a clearance rack at OfficeMax, were some really cool computer gadgets, also from iConcepts. As you can see in these pictures, I now have a glowing blue keyboard, mouse, light-bar and speakers.
It's a little weird since I had been using a wireless mouse and (spilt) keyboard. (If you've never tried one of the spilt keyboards, I really suggest that you do. They are so much nicer to use after you get used to them. For a while, my chatting will just have to have some misspellings until I get used to this "normal" keyboard.

Week Two:
Before I tell you the big "pet story" of the month, I thought I'd throw a picture in here of my ancient cat, Sheagra. She's been different in the last month or two - very nice and loving. Why, my hateful old cat even sat in my lap one evening and purred. In eighteen years, that has NEVER happened. Sheagra rarely appears on the webcam; but here she is watching Aries on the sofa.

The important pet news of the year, so far, is that my little boyz have turned four years old! Can you believe it? I still remember when I first brought them home and kept my webcam on their crate while I was off at work.

But how you do celebrate twin dogz fourth birthday? With gingerbread, of course!! LOL We sacrificed our first gingerbread house (DO's house) to the kidz, who really, really loved the sweet treat. Scroll through the pictures below (look for THREE MouseOver specials marked by a Gingerbread House!!), and try the movies below. Listen to the crunching! Watch the butts just a wigglin'! ROFL

Business is humming along right now. I don't have too many home clients but Waikem's and EAC have been keeping me pretty busy. Maybe even too busy. I've been feeling really tired and half-sick the last little bit.

Week Three:
From over at EAC, Tara has some pet news this month too. Last month, she got a new Airedale puppy, Lucy; this month, she got Ethel, a Siamese kitten. (I think it's the one in the background of this photo) Tara tried really, really hard to get me to go with her and get a new kitty for Jim too; but after having the pet store, I think people should get their own pets. Ah, heck, the real reason was that I was just too sick feeling that day to go (more about that later).

Oh, I bet I forgot to mention that earlier in the month, Tara had Jim and I over for dinner one night. MMMM. Good food, good chat, and good poker. We'll be sure to repay that dinner with a cookout and some pool time this summer. ;) wink, wink

Yes, I have been a little sick; but for a good reason - I'm taking all my meds all the time. I know that I shouldn't go off of them; but they make me feel so bad so often. And after I take them for a few months, I seem to stay so well for so long. But, after realizing that I've got to make some changes if I'm going to keep any commitments to Jim, I made sure to take ALL the meds ALL the time. Yeppers, for love, I'll be sick as a dog for a while (till some of the effects mellow out).

While I haven't felt so well, and been trapped at home (all that snow we've had sure didn't help me get out any. LOL), I worked on a couple of interesting computer projects. (more about that snow in a while)

Now that DO has a digital camera too, Jim and I have been showing her how to use it. While we were all sitting around one evening, Jim got this picture of DO. I thought it was a pretty interesting shot - the sepia tone, the prints on the walls, the sweep of her hair.

Look at the effects to see how I played around with her picture.

Brrrr! Winter is here!

Winter hit us with a big blast. Although we didn't get the foot of snow they predicted, we got plenty.
Snow on top of the
YardCam Birdhouse
MouseOver to look over the shrubs
and into the front yard

Luckily, we didn't get as much snow as they predicted; however 7 inches of snow and 0 degrees is still really cold. Even the doggies weren't too happy with the snow at first - until I shoveled some paths for them. ;) wink, wink

Later in the day, we finally got some sunshine

Since I've been busy moving my files onto the new server (Reznoir), I noticed that I really need to do a lot of updating. For example, the dogz website hasn't changed in a while. Until I get that site updated though, here are a few more pictures of the kidz to tie you over. :D VBG very big grin

Aries has obviously been cold lately, since he's been caught in the basket of fresh, warm laundry, and then on top of the coffee table on one of my blankets.

It doesn't have to be cold for Gabby to want to play under the blankets. LOL She's always such a happy dog and she's really happy when she's playing with "her" Jim. :)) LOL Laughing Out Loud

Week Four:

You're probably wondering why it took so long to get this month's update online. Well, it's been a couple of reasons. First off, I was running out of space at reigningpages.com. Moving into 2005 meant even more pictures in my updates. LOL So, I moved all the graphics for my site onto a whole new server - reznoir.dynalias.com. Since I have two computers networked together at my house, I decided to really put the second computer to use. It not only holds a second hard drive with about 10gig of music files, but it also runs yard cam. Now it (this computer is my old Compaq named Titania) runs a server (reznoir.dynalias.com) and is officially part of the internet.
