Even though we just got back from a vacation, Jim and I sure could use another one after this past weekend - and it needs to be a vacation where we just relax. Before heading out to Kings Island last week, we announced that we would have a pool party the next Sunday as long as the weather held.
Well, the weather stayed perfect and we had a pool party BOTH days of the weekend.

Pool Party 1 - Saturday

Since the weather was nice, on Saturday we invited Tara and her crew (Jason, Austin and the puppies - Lucy and Ricky), along with DO and Mike P., who was back from his construction job in NC.
If you were reading through my July blog, then you probably saw how horrible the pool was went we returned from Kings Island. By the time the weekend rolled around, the water was back to crystal clear again.

Ricky and Lucy came along for the party and although they visited the pool, they hung out on the patio most of the afternoon.

Pool Party 2 - Sunday

Sunday morning dawned bright and clear, and so was the pool again. Woohoo! Today was the "big" party that we planned - with hamburgers, chips, skillet beans, drinks, and cake,
along with all that fun in the sun and water!
The patio gets one last cleaning before the guests arrive.

Nami and Baba have no idea of the "invasion" on the way. LOL
Before anyone arrives, Jim started up the mechanical fish that we got last year and set them swimming around in the pool

By one o'clock, our guests were arriving and the fun was beginning!

No one is safe. Even leaving the pool is dangerous. and you can't trust your own mom.
(That's Mike leaving the pool and his mom, Pam, getting in a passing shot or two. LOL)

Linda ia AGAIN collecting all the weapons DO stalks about looking for victims

Peek-a-boo!

We still haven't mounted the PoolCam back onto Jim's roof this year, so we just stuck it up there for the weekend.

Standing on the ground beside the pool all that could be seen was the beach ball bounding around.

Thinking about whether it should be cake or back in the pool?

The difference between the Sat party and the Sun party (besides the amount of people!!) was that we were cooking out hamburgers and hotdogs at the Sun party. Thanks also to DO for the tater salad and mmmmmmm! skillet beans; Tara brought a yummy pasta salad (and freezie pops that we totally forgot about. LOL); Pam brought a spiral ham; Linda brought a white cake; and Angie sent tons of chips and dip. We provided Coke, lemonaide, ketchup, mustard, relish, buns, and plates to hold it all. Plus, the piece da la resistance was the hamburger cake that Jim created (of course, I did help some too)
MMMMM a layer of brownie representing the burger, topped with globs of icing like ketchup and mustard, and wrapped in two layers of yellow cake covered in icing (tinted and flavored with hot chocolate mix) for the buns, and seaseme seeds on the top (actually, they are the mini-marshmellows from the hot chocolate mix).

No, this isn't supposed to be a picture of Jim's shorts, it's a picture of the cake. Mouseover for the CloseUp
It still looks like a burger from the other side. LOL And lookie! Another crotch shot. ROFL

Since we had such a crowd, I had brought along a blanket which I spread out over by the badmitton court for those who wanted to eat picnic-style.
(I was in this group. That my plate down by the drinks - held stable in the frisbee!)
Our pool party even came with it's own entertainer. Jason juggled for the kids, which was fine until the plummeted him with squooosh balls. Click to watch the juggling!
Late afternoon swimming

Richard and Angie finally made it to the party but fairly late because Angie was getting a tattoo. There were still some burgers warming on the grill and plenty of side dishes left for the two to munch. By the end, there were 4 leftover burgers and 2 hotdogs - which my dogz enjoyed quite a lot!

Exhausted, happy, tanned,
and munching on chips and dip.
Happy Summer Everyone!

Oops! I thought the pools were over; but I was mistaken.
