Gabby's Day Off

Gabrielle got to take a day off from living with the boyz. Since she's so well-behaved, and loves Jim so much, she got a special treat of visiting Jim's house all by herself. She was pretty excited about the car ride; but was well-behaved and got us laughing as her ears were flapping in the wind on the trip over

Gabby is always a happy dog and, if possible, was even happier on today's trip. When we got to Jim's, she remembered his house well and headed straight out to the backyard (She and the boyz have been over there when I've had to treat the house for fleas). Only having three legs sure didn't slow her down any as she raced around the yard checking out all the sights and smells.

Jim's apple tree is in full bloom this weekend, and looking beautiful. Clicking on any of these images, you can see a larger picture suitable for an 800x600 desktop wallpaper.

As you can see the pool is still green and icky. We're still working on filling it up all the way, so that Jim can start the filter cleaning the water. I was up on the deck, headphones on, music blasting, cleaning leaves and scum out of the pool. Jim brought Gabby up to see me. Well, when she saw me on the other side of the pool, she took one look at the water, gave it a sniff, decided the fastest way to get to me was to swim across, and dove right into the green, slimey water!! :O Surprised! I tried to stop her but she didn't listen; but Jim came to the rescue and jumped into the cold water and helped her back out of the pool. The poor little girl was cold and green until we got her rinsed back off; but still happy and wriggling through it all. Although I nearly had a coronary, Gabby, with only 3 legs, did the dog paddle and did quite well in the water. By the time I had gotten over to her side of the pool, and Jim was jumping into the water, Gabby had turned around and was on her way back to the side of the pool.
Look closely and you can see Gabby's legs still with a tinge of green!
Does this look like the face of a dog that has just given her master a heart attack? (I know. I know. Spaniels can swim; but she's only got three legs!!) or is it the face of a happy dog having a LOT of fun?! :)) LOL Laughing Out Loud
Gabby spent the next half hour or so, running back and forth on the deck between Jim and I, rubbing against us, drying off using us and our shorts as towels. LOL And enjoying it all! Although Gabby was first into the pool this summer, with Jim in second place, I think that I'll wait till the water is clean and warmer before I get into the pool this year. :)) ROFL rolling on the floor laughing

for the reflection in my sunglasses

a happy slightly damp, and slighty green, cocker spaniel ;) wink, wink

In the late afternoon, and finally dried out, we loaded Gabby into the car and headed back home to the boyz. Jim took these pictures - while driving! (He almost ran us into one ditch and then put his camera away.)
If you look into the side mirror, you'll see a very happy doggie enjoying another ride in the car. I tried to catch her ears flapping in the wind; but her ears got in the way of the lens. :)) ROFL rolling on the floor laughing
At home, the boyz all had to spend several minutes sniffing Gabby up, and finding out all about her adventures that afternoon. Within about 20 minutes though, she zonked out, and spent most of the rest of the evening dozing, since she was tired and exhausted from her big day out. ;) wink, wink
