General Computer Maintanence
Once a month, run AD-AWARE, SPYBOT and CCLEANER using the instructions below. After running these three programs, you may want to reboot your computer to completely release all resources and clear up any remaining issues.

If you need a good and free anti-virus program, download ANTIVIR.

HINT: Visit this website from your home computer, and add these programs to your system for improved performance!

1 Run AD-AWARE first
 
  1. Click the GLOBE icon (upper right) and search for updates
  2. If needed, update definitions (OK, CONNECT, OK, FINISH)
  3. After updating, click START (bottom right), then NEXT
  1. After scan is complete, check ALL items
  2. Click NEXT, OK to fix
  3. When complete, close AD-AWARE

 
 
2 Run SPYBOT second
 
  1. Click SEARCH FOR UPDATES
  1. Check all updates
  2. (You made need to change servers)
  3. Download and install update

 
  1. Click IMMUNIZE (left hand column)
  2. (Check to see if you are fully protected)
  3. CLICK IMMUNIZE (green plus sign)
  1. Click SEARCH&DESTROY
  2. click CHECK for PROBLEMS

 
  1. when search is completed, Check all items
  2. click FIX
  1. Spybot will create a Restore Point
  2. YES to fix all selected items
  3. when complete close
 
3 Run CCLEANER last
 
  1. Click ISSUES (left hand column)
  2. Click SCAN (bottom right)
  1. Check all items, click FIX
  2. don't make a backup

 
  1. click fix all selected, then click close
  2. continue to scan and fix until no issues are found

 
  1. click CLEANER (left hand column)
  2. click RUN CLEANER (bottom right)
  3. close when completed
 
4 After running these three programs, you may want to reboot your computer to completely release all resources and clear up any remaining issues.
