December December 2003 December

Week One  |  Week Two  |  Week Three  |  Week Four
Week One:

Make sure that you check out the Thanksgiving pictures from November

Being so far from home, I don't get to see any of my relatives too often. From the pictures that she took at Thanksgiving, my mom sent me this picture of her sister (my aunt Beth - in the dark blue sweater vest) and her partner (Chris). (yes, it obviously is genetic in my family. LOL)

One night my dogs were driving me crazy by barking, barking, barking. I pulled my gnarled fingers from the keyboard and went to see what the fuss was all about. With their flashing lights illuminating the neighborhood, the police had pulled over a pickup right in front of my house. I don't know what was going on; but within a few minutes, everyone drove away, the dogs quit barking and the neighborhood was quiet once more . . . and I was back on my computer. :D VBG very big grin@-) crazy

Week Two:
After re-scheduling several times dues to various illnesses (mine and Ritchie's), I finally got to have Ritchie come over and spend the night. As always, we had a great time and stayed up way too late. :o) clown
Here's some pretty amazing pictures! My poor little Aries isn't quite right, you see. He's got some sort of neurological problem that makes him kinda crabby, and has given him a "tic" that causes his back leg to spasm. So Aries tends to stay a little more "out of the way" than the rest of the dogs. However, on rare occasions Aries will be really loving. And this was one of those times. :D VBG very big grin
This is the saddest sight of all - the pool covered in snow; but at least it's not totally covered!! If it ever snows enough to cover the whole pool, you'll find me on the next plane to NC. ROFL clapping
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
at the Bivens home. :X LOVE
MouseOver to see the backyard,
deep in the white stuff
Every year, I take the fountain out of my pond and replace it with a small artificial Christmas tree. Although it's hard to tell under all that snow.
BRRRRR! Any deeper and I'll have to turn off the accent lights around the pool - no one will be able to see them!

Week Three:
While working on the Christmas cookies, her doggies escaped for a while through the opened front door. (Sweet Pea and Lacey get out and run the neighborhood every once in a while. Hopefully, Rosita, the newest pup, won't pick up this bad habit.) Look how the snow on Sweet Pea's legs look like the mini-marshmallows that go into hot chocolate. ROFL
Speaking of Christmas Cookies, production has been in full swing this past week. For more pictures , check out the Holiday webpages.

Create Your Own Snowscape
Do you remember ColorForms from Christmases when you were a child? Play with my online version, filled with fun snowmen!

Ouch! Somebody's gonna be having a bad Christmas. This car was coming through the intersection (the wrong way!) and a passing car plowed right into them....and then drove away with their bumper dragging. WoW! Nobody was hurt; but they got cold waiting on the police and tow truck to arrive.

I almost forgot to mention the newest member to the Bivens family - Rudy! My mom's big heart made her look for a new dog to "rescue". So, although she has always teased me about having so many dogs, now my Mom has her own "pack"!

Week Four: Christmas Week

Please don't forget to visit my holiday website
for all the latest pictures of the Christmas festivities in Ohio.

You'll find a lot of pictures on my Holidays page of the dogs; but don't let that make you think that I forgot about my cat, Sheagra. Christmas morning, I made caramel rolls for Jim and I to eat for breakfast before heading to visit Carolynn. I still had milk in my cup when I had finished eating. Don't worry though. The milk didn't go to waste. Sheagra jumped on my desk, dipped her paw into the cup, and proceeded to lick the milk off. She continued this until the milk was gone. :D VBG very big grin

Week Five:
Jim received this nice shelf for Christmas, that just fits perfect over his stove. (on a side note - My new VCR wasn't working right and we had to exchange it. But it's all fine now. ;) wink, wink)
Although my Mom was pretty sick through the Christmas holiday, she did have a little ray of light through the gloom - Rudy! At 8 months old now, he sounds like quite a handful; but I'm sure he's bringing some much needed excitement and love into Mom and Dennis' home. ROFL ;) wink, wink

Happy New Year to all of my Visitors!

Here we are at the end of another year. Some bad things happened (snow, the sewer backed-up, there were birds in my house, my house was covered in dirt from the school construction next door, had to replace the pool liner and more snow!), and some good things happened too (got a cell phone, put Expert Auto online, went home to NC for my birthday, played tennis, played in the pool, had a great 2-day Cedar Point trip - and missed the BIG blackout, had red hair, attended my first wedding, quit Waikems and started working for myself, went to the circus, saw Duran Duran and made cookies - I'm not certain if making all those cookies might not count as one of the bad things. ROFL :D VBG very big grin But eating them sure was one of the good things. :)) LOL Laughing Out Loud).

I'd like to take this space before heading into 2004 to tell my family how much I love :X LOVE and miss them Hugs! and to tell all of my friends how much I love, need and rely on them for all their many kindnesses. :X LOVE Hugs! Even though doctors have told me several times that I was sick enough that I might only have 6 more months to live, I haven't let that get me down. How could I when I'm loved by sooo many people? And as your friend, brother, lover, and son, I promise to keep on taking my meds and stay around so that are more stories and tons more pictures here on my site next year. (I'm already excited to tell you about the Bowie concert; but you'll have to wait until January for that story! LOL) ;) wink, wink :D VBG very big grin

Best Wishes to You All for a Very Happy New Year!

P.S.

I thought this year was over for all my updates; but I had to add something to my End-of-Year lists above. To the list of Bad Things, add my car is having problems; but to the Good List add the fact that Leatherman got his new leather jacket!! :D VBG very big grin WooHoo! I want to sincerely thank each of you who gave, instead of a Christmas present, money towards my jacket fund. Your gift has already made me very happy and will for years to come.
