April April 2004 April

Week One  |  Week Two  |  Week Three  |  Week Four
Week One:

I've got some great news to start off this month, and it ain't no April Fool's Day joke. I went to the doctor on the 1st, and after nearly 2 months on these meds, my blood work came back greatly improved! My T-cells nearly doubled (from 69 up to 149); while the HIV viral load went down dramatically (from 110,740 to 371)!! WooHoo! :D VBG very big grin

Week Two:
DO has bought an Easter gift for one of her grandchildren; but after seeing how much I wanted to get one, she graciously gave me this toy. But I didn't really keep it, because it wasn't for me, it was for my kidz. The gift is a "bubble gun". As you can see from mouse-ing over this big picture and the ones below, the kidz really enjoy chasing the bubbles. :D VBG very big grin

With Spring finally in the air, it was time for haircuts. But not mine - haircuts for my doggies! Years ago, when Randy and I got our first spaniel (Appollonia) and then had the first litter, we were very good about keep our cockers groomed and beautiful. However, by the time we had 7 of the mutts running in the house, we were no longer so meticulous. LOL

Aries is barking at me. I don't think he wants me to take a picture of him all naked. LOL But I think he looks just like a baby puppy again - only BIG! :)) LOL Laughing Out Loud

Not long ago, my friends at Expert Auto let me use their super-duper scanner (while I was there last month updating their hard drive). I scanned in all my pictures of Randy (Remember that I mentioned that month that I wanted to create a website memorial to Randy? That's what these pictures are for. Don't forget to let me know if you have any pictures of Randy. I'd really appreciate borrowing them for a few days to scan them in too. :X LOVE). I also scanned in some old cartoons that I had cut out from newspapers and magazines. Here's a cute one - it's a cocker AND a computer. Of course, I think it's cute. LOL

Week Three:

Years ago, my roommate Jodi, took on her internet personna of "internetbabs" from a cartoon (click here to view). At the same time, I started this personal log online, inspired by another cartoon. (Ahead of the pack, I was already "blogging" before it was popular - and my updates had pictures! With the new camera cell phones on the market, the rest of the pack is finally catching up to me (and maybe even passing me!) with their "moblogging"). If I've ever told you, "Shoo, Shoo. That information is on my webpage", you're sure to enjoy this Dilbert cartoon as much as I. :D VBG very big grin

While I'm working on people's computers, this is what they see - the back of my head and their screen.

What they don't see is the expression on my face when I see how screwed up they've gotten their computers.
MouseOver for more!

As this week draws to an end, I would like to update you on some other things too. For one, my health. So far, so good. I still have some barf-y days - but I can live with once a week or so. But I've been a lot achey-er lately. Which leads to another thing - I've been busier too. I've had quite a few more clients and even have an upcoming appointment with a local carpet dealer to discuss building him a website. WooHoo! That could be the answer to the some of my current financial problems. Keep your fingers crossed that this works out well! ;) wink, wink

Week Four:
Last month, I told you about my new Yard-cam, so I thought you should see where it was located. That's up in my bathroom window. MouseOver to get a close-up view. The shield comes from the sunglasses that Jim got a few years back when he had laser eye surgery done. (The bright sun reflecting off cars, trucks, etc., kept frying out the cam until I gave it some "shades". :) smiling
Just a bright Spring afternoon in the back yard. More about that truck later. ;) wink, wink
Since things are finally starting to bloom and grow around here. I had to get out into the back yard and fix some of the fencing. My "wonderful" doggies have loved playing in the flower beds during the winter. :-OX-( angry But the mint is coming in full force (MouseOver for a CloseUp), and by the end of summer, I'll have a fence-full of morning glories again. clapping
When Fall came last year, I collected nearly a 1/3 of a baggie of seeds from my cosmos flowers. I fenced in the area of the yard that the dogs had worn to the dirt (MouseOver to see the area), tilled up the ground and planted my seeds. A week later, and I've got sprouts about 2 inches tall. WooHoo! A field of flowers this summer for sure!

New School vs. Old School

Just down the street from my backyard, is the old Gibbs Elementary School. This week, the construction company began to raze this old building. MouseOver and you might even be able to see the board and plastic covered windows (all the glass and much of the interior has already been removed).
From sunrise to sunset, for nearly a week, the cranes have been demolishing the old building.
Nothing left now; but a pile of rubble. Remember the truck from the yard cam pictures, earlier on this page? Well, 7:00AM on Thursday, they rolled in, one after another, hauling away the rubble. Of course, they didn't start any later on Saturday while I was trying to sleep in. LOL

Week Five:

Oh boy! Just like I said, I have been busy now! And feeling a little crappy and worn-out from it all. (I will have to mention to the doctor next week that I have been much more tired lately - and a lot itchier! But that could be a Spring/pollen thing. LOL :)) LOL Laughing Out Loud Achoo!)

I've been busy with a lot of clients this last week and a half. Although I still haven't gotten a call from the CarpeTime guy (although I did see him in person after a "3-drink lunch" when he promised again to call me soon), I have been busy with an interior designer. This very professional lady (Kim Anderson) wasn't quite certain what she wanted. She just knew that she has a computer and ought to be using it. ;) wink, wink The Computer Tutor to the rescue again! (Every job is different - cause everyone uses their computers for different things.) So I'll be designing a website along with a database of clients/vendors/stock.For the database, I'm going to really get down to learning Microsoft Access. LOL 8-} silly

Now you'd think that all that would make me busy enough; but I've still been working with a ton of other clients. An old friend (Mary Kirkman) had me set up her new computer. I hadn't been to her place in a long time and she gave me some pop top tabs that she had been saving for a year - two gallon freezer bags FULL!

The tabs? Oh the tabs I turn over to a very nice lady (Helen Wentworth) at my old job (Waikems) who turns them into a church group which helps cover the costs of dialysis time for local kidney patients. (We checked into it and this one is not a scam. So me and all the people collecting tabs for me have been garnering some good karma for quite a while helping out some fellow human beings. :D VBG very big grin:X LOVE)

Linda (DO's youngest daughter) got me to drive over to Alliance (about half way over to Randy's mom's - about 15 miles) to work on her business computer - and possibly some more clients. ;) wink, wink

Speaking of the Waikems, while I was delivering all the tabs, I stopped by and spoke with my good friend, Gayle (the boss' secretary). I even got to see my old boss (Doug - who had, amazingly, recommended me to my new interior designer client!:O Surprised!) He and his brother were quite happy to see me and see to that Jim had bought a car from their Hyundai dealership; but were quite distressed to see how we had pictured Jim "un-Waikem-izing" his car. ROFL :)) LOL Laughing Out Loud

And also speaking of the Waikem's, I got another job working on Doug Waikem's ex-wife's computer. Paula is quite nice lady, and I'm always happy to help her out - with two daughters (Jordan, 14, and Adrian, 12) she's got a mess on her hands trying to keep track of their internet activities. LOL

And through all this, I was counseling, consoling and encouraging a very good friend of mine who was interviewing for a new job. More news on that in a couple of weeks if it pans out. ;) wink, wink

So for the rest of the month (only 2 days left), I am planning no clients! Although, I still have two sitting around the house that I need to look at, and the interior designer's database and website. LOL I'm just glad the month is nearly through, the snow the other day didn't stick, and my flowers are all starting to grow. :D VBG very big grin And I'm taking my meds, so when I see the doctor next week, he'll have good news to start out next month - plus with these clients, more and more of my past bills are getting caught up, so things are looking up. And pool time is a-coming! :)) LOL Laughing Out Loudclapping:) smiling

Even with my busy schedule, I've still been working on some of my own projects (yes, I know that I still haven't put up the new version of this site that I talked about earlier in the year; but I'll get to that sometime. ROFL 8-} silly). project One is a time-lapse project. Everyday, I'm snapping one picture from my cam. It ought to be interesting to see the progression after a year. ;) wink, wink project Two is that cute little animated guy in the middle of the picture below. Who is that?!? Why, it's mIkIE, the Computer Tutor! clapping  (maybe, I should make a ComputerTutor agent too.) Click the composite image below to see all the pictures.
