Christmas Past
My mom recently scanned in some pictures from my childhood and sent them up to me. Although a few were from Halloween, most of the pictures were of Christmas Past (or snow!). Have a look at a couple of Christmas mornings when I was a child. All of these are MouseOver CloseUp Specials too!!

Each Christmas morning, our mom stood behind the door, watching and waiting to snap a picture showing our looks of joy and surprise as we first saw our gifts. However, she usually snapped the picture too soon (or we were running towards the loot too quickly!), and all we saw were big floating spots from being blinded by the camera flash. ROFL
Christmas Trees & Villages
Our old Christmas tree (actually it's Jim's old tree that he passed down to me while I was at the old house) is finally just too dead to be used. Luckily, DO go a new artificial tree this year and passed her old tree to us to use for the holidays.

MouseOver Special
I have some Christmas decorations set out this Christmas. Behind me in the my webcam pix you should be able to see Santa's house and sleigh ready to take-off on the big night.
Of course, DO has her two villages set up now too. The village on top of the entertainment center is very interesting to look at, as many of the buildings have lighted interior scenes.
Both of her villages look adorable with the room lights turned off

That's Jim reflected in the pix above and me in the pix below!
Christmas Cookies
DO couldn't find any elves to help with her cookies, but she did get a gang of girls to assist in creating the Christmas goodies. Angie G, Kayle, Becca, and Angie worked hard icing and decorating. We only did cutout cookies this first weekend.
During the following week, just DO and I baked and iced a batch of pumpkin cookies.
During the second weekend of the month, we did batches of Orange Drop Cookies (puffy orange cookies covered in a zesty orange icing) and Buried Cherry Cookies (chocolate cookies baked with a cherry in the center and then covered in a layer of chocolate icing)

Christmas Back Home
As they have done for many years now, my family gathered over at my brother's house to celebrate the holiday.
It's nice being able to see how everyone enjoyed their get-together.  I did notice something through the pictures my mom sent - Dennis didn't move. It looks like he grabbed a good end of the couch and was comfy through the festivities.
Jon must have had the same idea as Dennis though, because I noticed that Jon looked pretty comfortable on the other couch.

Jon, Don, Angie, Lisa Nana is looking pretty good for 90!
Speaking of Nana, not only does she still look good but she's still pretty smart and sneaky - but not quite sneaky enough since Mom got this picture.
Christmas Eve with Friends
We had quite a stack of presents waiting to go over to DO's on Christmas Eve to pass out to the family.
DO had two tables full of cookies and candies from which to create everyone's "Goodie Box"

A mutual friend of ours, Mary K, gave DO an early present that has been up for a few days - this lighted wreath with a tiny teapot and cups set. DO seems surprised to see that we got her a boxful of NON-Kincaid puzzles.
Christmas Gifts
I got new cookies sheets, and two sets of containers (to fill up with all those goodies I put in the muffins ), along some other kitchen gadgets. Also I received quite a nice selection of clothes, including jeans, flannel shirt, sweat shirt and pants, scarf and hat, slippers, and a new fuzzy robe.
