Childhood Christmases
My mom recently scanned in some pictures from my childhood and sent them up to me. Although a few were from Halloween, most of the pictures were of Christmas Past (or snow!). Have a look at a couple of Christmas mornings when I was a child.

All of these are MouseOver CloseUp Specials too!!

Each Christmas morning, our mom stood behind the door, watching and waiting to snap a picture showing our looks of joy and surprise as we first saw our gifts. However, she usually snapped the picture too soon (or we were running towards the loot too quickly!), and all we saw were big floating spots from being blinded by the camera flash. ROFL

In 2004, Jim and I built gingerbread houses of my family's homes and
flew down to spend the Christmas holiday with my family in North and South Carolina.

Christmas Gifts
Christmas was rather "un-Christmas-y" this year. My family didn't exchange presents, the crowd for Christmas Eve was very small at Joyce's, and of course, I didn't have Jim with me. (that's why there aren't many holiday pictures this year)

However, I did receive a few presents. Carolynn got me a new electric skillet and thumb drive, my mom (Celia) gave me money which I used to buy an electric blanket (maybe I won't miss my heated waterbed so much now), and my GrandMother gave me a check. Though her check covered my plane fare, the plane ride was Jim's final gift to me. I plan to use the money from my GrandMother to purchase another Chantix prescription next month so I can quit smoking again.
