Week One |   Week Two |   Week Three |   Week Four |   Week Five

Week One:
Check back in December 2007 to catch
the last of the Christmas pictures and my review of 2007.

I put together the puzzle I got from Carolynn for Christmas. I really like this puzzle for it's picture and the beautiful colors. What makes it extra cool is that it's a glow-in-the-dark puzzle. I've had a bottle of puzzle glue since before I moved last year, and I've decided it's time to use the stuff. I installed a black light in the staircase going up to our bedroom, to light up a glow-in-the-dark framed cross-stitch picture. I'll have to do some more GITD puzzles to hang in the stairwell gallery.

Unfortunately I can't say that I have felt all that good this first week of the year. I've got two health concerns; but since I'm not in the hospital that's a good sign so for.

Since the week of Christmas I've been paying attention and I've been throwing up twice a week for the last three weeks. I'm not really certain if that's more than normal or not; but it feels like it, and it troubles me. I mean besides from the whole heaving physical aspect of it. It troubles me because there never seems to be a away to judge when this is going to happen. I can just wake up in the morning, feeling hot, flushed and nauseous ; or it can happen to me after dinner and my nightly meds . I've starting charting when all the incidents happen now so I will know just how much of a problem this actually is for me.
I've been having another problem too; but I'm not sure of the cause. It could be a side effect from my meds, or it could be because I'm in my mid-40s, or it could just be because of the weather. Maybe it's a little bit of all three is what I'm guessing though. Back in August I was complaining that my aches and pains could be related to PN (peripheral neuropathy). Now that it's gotten cold, the aches and pains have gotten much worse. If I sit still for much more than 10 minutes, it becomes quite a struggle to get all my limbs to "wake" back up and get the kinks out enough to move - much less the fact that doing all that hurts. By my next doctor appt. in March when (hopefully) it'll be warmer, if I still hurt like this I'm going to really make an issue about this problem and see what can be done.

I remember back starting my first Spring semester at UNCC (1984), we had the strangest Winter weather - it got warm! For a week and a half, things warmed up into Spring-like weather and flowers began to bloom. Of course, by the third week in January, we had a severe ice storm, and regular weather patterns resumed. Sometimes it's so hard to prove Global Warming when things stay the same though. Here it is 24 yrs. later and we're having another one of those warm-ups in the middle of Winter.

And if things are warm and Spring like again in Ohio, can you guess where DO and I went to enjoy the 65 degree weather? That's right - the park! With my recent weeks of feeling sickly and achy, I decided not to attempt riding a bike this time. Instead, DO and I along with Rosita strolled around the park soaking up the warmth and some sunshine.
The park just isn't as pretty in the Winter. With no leaves on the trees, it's easy to see the back of Mercy Hospital (where I go to have my blood work done, and where I was the first time I had pneumonia), and the McKinley Monument.
The park isn't as pretty as it was just back in November.

Believe it or not, I've still got a flower growing in my front yard. Of course, we haven't had too much snow this year, nor has it really been all that cold (yet!). As you can see my neighbor still has something out of place in their yard too. They really ought to get "Santa" inside before we do get a cold snap and a foot of snow. LOL

Week Two:
Well, that's what I get for talking about there being no snow. Now it's gotten windy, cold, and about an inch of snow is on the ground. I borrowed DO's car to run by Waikems for a check-up on their cameras. On the way home, I swung by to get a picture of the park covered in snow.

Week Three:
Since it's the middle of Winter and not much to do (especially now that it's gotten cold and snowy again), I've started doing more puzzles.

I wasn't looking forward to finishing up the blue sky in this 2000 piece puzzle - and I didn't have to. There was one piece missing here the top of the house. Any puzzle missing a piece is a broken puzzle and belongs in the trash.
Currently, I'm working on two new puzzles. One is a 1000-piece puzzle of a castle (underneath everything on the table). The other is this 3D carousel puzzle that is partially completed. I really do like doing the 3D kind. After puzzling out and completing all the sections, it's another puzzle figuring out how to connect the pieces into their third dimension.

Week Four:
The weather has gone totally crazy. It's gotten warmer again reaching clear into the 50's this week; but it's nearing the end of January so you know this isn't going to last. The weather prediction is for  gusty winds to drop our temp by 30+ degrees, and the snow to come back just before the end of the month.

Week Five:
The winds did blow in the cold and its' only 10 degrees today, with a tiny dusting of snow swirling around. Like I said though, I'm not surprised because this is January with the shortest but coldest month of the year (Feb) about to be upon us. Don't forget Feb. will be extra long this month with it's extra day for Leap Year.

I'm happy to say that I can end this month with some good news. I haven't thrown up in two weeks! I've had some of the worst aches in my muscles and joints than I've ever had in my life; but I haven't puked in a while and that is all that matters.
